It is all about healing Our collective personality. We need to heal the split between thought and feeling. If we merely intellectualize we can put a spin on anything (koan from Zen: (WORDS ARE TRAPS). Once thought becomes aware of feeling or feeling becomes aware of thought we get closer to integrating Our collective personality. The on purpose strategy of “denial” is another story. Integrating the thought-feeling split is an “inside job” that will help to create balance. This lies in education. But when the collective thought-feeling split becomes integrated to a higher degree Our collective personality will exist in less duality because the “inside” of Us will be like the “outside.” We become more aware of each other and the earth. What else can we do but have patience and work (help) to make it happen.

When we clearly perceive we are aware of our collective unconscious wherever it is putting the brakes on.

WORDS ARE TRAPS

Consciousness becomes blasted, as it were, with an excess of Light. In the Vendanta books it is said that after the experience of nirvikalpa samadhi the body drops off like a dry leaf. Only those who are born with a special mission for the world can return from this height to the valleys of normal life. They live and move in the world for the welfare of mankind. They are invested with a supreme spiritual power. A divine glory shines through them. (27)

This paper depicts facts of similarity between Ramakrisna’s nirvikalpa samadhi experience and mine. The paper is food for thought for our ongoing evolution in understanding Universal principles. The reader needs to read the aforementioned feature article of this blog, WORDS ARE TRAPS, and my biography, to further understand what I went through to experience nirvikalpa samadhi. My undergoing of nirvikalpa samadhi has made me realize that many saints from all traditions have undergone the same transformation and/or transfiguration. I describe my experience as a locked door being opened and I achieved what is called God Realization. In this realization, the visionary knows and sees God as Spirit, that is, the visionary knows and sees God as pure consciousness or the mind of God or Brahman. I was graced with the ability to see where and how others are obstructed from this pure consciousness that lies dormant in us and is waiting to explode. I have the ability to help people uncover and remove the obstructions to our Absolute Supreme Pure Consciousness that is inside us. We are part of God or the Great Spirit and these words are attempts at labeling the Absolute as far as we know about the Absolute. Thus far in our evolution a person who has undergone nirvikalpa samadhi retreats from the world and has no strong worldly concerns. A man of God-realization transcends the idea of worldly duties…(39) In the future this condition will become more worldly as humanity puts more emphasis on the Spiritual. The Spiritual will meld with the material as is presently happening.

Ramakrishna who is referred to as the Master lived in India from 1836 to 1886. Romain Roland described Ramakrishna’s utterances as the consummation of two thousand years of the spiritual life of three hundred million Hindus. For the first time in the world’s history the words of a profit who is reverenced in India as belonging in the spiritual line of Krishna and Buddha and is being recognized in the west as a compeer of Christ…(Cover)

He purifies the mind and the senses by appropriate meditations…He awakens the different spiritual centers of the body and invokes the Supreme Spirit in his heart.(11) Jesus said: Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God. A state of bliss consciousness ensues and will generally stay that way if one controls her environment and circumstances. Character development needs to be the priority as going through the locked door is just the beginning. It is not possible for most people to understand this condition and its’ state of orientation. You have to get there. This is why we are admonished not to judge others. Being raised Christian, I know that Jesus was a seed planter for the worlds development.

Methods For Ramakrishna’s Development

He told them about his own realizations and explained to them the essence of his teachings, such as the necessity of renunciation, sincerity in the course of one’s own course of discipline, faith in God, the performance of one’s duties without thought of results, and discrimination between the Real and the unreal.(45)

The Necessity of Renunciation

I renounced the everyday world of most people for four years in my pursuit of being a professional stand-up comedian. I became non-attached. I cut off undesirable friends who I knew would distract me and attempt to hold me back from my goal. I would not answer the phone. I did not have aspirations of marriage or even for having a mate or girl friend during this time. I quit smoking tobacco and drinking. My skills of concentration were highly honed and sharpened. I meditated. I contemplated. I made a clear heart-mind-body connection. I studied subjects that I wanted to study, like nutrition, and I went to college. I took up what is called “the path of deliberate rigor.” I became a full-time runner. I honed my juggling skills. I took up hatha yoga. I realized that the Spirit of God talked to me through my intuition when I breathed during the yoga asanas and also while running. I was fully honest with myself about myself. The Sisters of St. Agnes taught me to be honest with myself. I started acting in plays and performing stand-up comedy. I was Self-actualizing, and in Self-actualizing I was realizing myself and my connection to others. I was obsessed with my goal and I purely loved what I was doing. I experienced a full-blown kundalini arousal that came out of nowhere and my life was forever changed.

Sincerity In The Course of One’s Own Course of Discipline

I was honest with myself about everything. Jesus said, “The truth will set you free” John 8:31-32 ESV. I weeded out crazy fantasies that I had. I caught all of my delusional thinking and got rid of it. I became in touch with reality because in my case I knew that I needed to in order to have the confidence of a performer with integrity. Through this character development my vibrations became higher and I attracted many important and well to do friends. I was totally sincere in what I was doing and this is why I reverted back to telling myself the total truth.

Faith in God

I considered myself a spiritual wanderer in the beginning of my four year discipline adventure. In a moment of utter despair I asked God to give me strength and boy did I eventually get it. I realized some time later that when I asked God to give me strength that I was surrendering to God and I did not even know it. I had given up my ego and asked God to take over and the Spirit took over for me. “Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and the door will be opened” Matt. 7:7. This is how I realized that Jesus (the word) was trying to instill higher consciousness in us and this was also realized by Ramakrishna.

The Performance Of One’s Duties Without the Thought of Results

I was out there for the pure love of what I was doing. I doggedly tried and I started surprising myself. I just went out almost every night and I performed stand-up. It was fun even if I had to go back to the drawing board. I considered it a challenge and I was competing against myself. I was different than some of the other comedians who were competing with me and would steal some of my jokes. When I first got to the big city I thought that everybody was like me and I learned that was not the case. Finding this out about people was extremely educational for me. I did not care. I loved what I was doing and I was doing multiple disciplines that made me love myself. These experiences honed my intuition and I realized that people are generally like this until they practice true character development.

Discrimination Between the Real and the Unreal

All of the aforementioned disciplines and experiences of adventure led me to break through the koan from Zen – WORDS ARE TRAPS. I popped it. I achieved what I have termed Super Intuition. I became enlightened. Because I broke through the koan I realized that my truth telling led me to realize that I had been psychologically conditioned to believe things that were not true and I straitened myself out. I entered the state of non-duality. I saw things as they were and how they are now. I no longer quickly censored my thoughts with some kind of conditioning or bias. The inside of me became the same as the outside of me. I no longer distorted what I saw and I no longer distorted reality in my communication with others. I realized that others are just like me in the sense that they may not realize what they are doing in their states of dishonesty. Dishonesty is what binds us and is what is meant by original sin. Much of the wrong that we do stems from the ignorance or naivety of us not understanding that we have to be truthful in order for us to resurrect the pure conscious Spirit that we possessed when we were born.

The Universal principle of telling ourselves and others the truth is one of the master keys for us to unveil the pure God Consciousness within us. These are Ramakrishna’s methods but they are also my methods as I by accident through the love of what I was doing put these Universal principles to work and so can you. Give in and surrender to the Great Spirit and do not be afraid to take some time off and you can find your Self.

Let something appeal to us and we will make sense out of it. Let something offend us, disturb us, threaten us and we will see that it does not make sense.

We lose our false belief that we are separate from others after we have established a foundation for attempting to tell our Self and others the truth at all times. We can be honest with our Self and others and be wrong but we correct the wrong as our knowledge/awareness expands. Being sincere is a great part of attempting to tell the truth. If you are sincere you are love. We see and know how our thoughts, feelings and actions affect others by observing how our thoughts, feelings and actions affect others. Observation tells us how we affect others for good or bad or somewhere in-between. We notice our energetic connection that we are ONE. The purity of truth and sincerity are powerful and attractive. Truth is attractive because it is Universal. Truth makes us discover our Selves. When we discover our Self we simultaneously discover all other Selves. We are the same inside. If you think that you can trick people by habitually telling lies then you think that you are separate. We are made to know our connection. Cosmic Consciousness knows that energy connects us to everything.

What I call the Point of Convergence is the place in your mind where the conscious and the unconscious parts meet. It is like you have drawn a line between what is conscious and what you keep unconscious in you. We come to illumination after illumination as we struggle and make the unconscious parts of us conscious. Psychological conditioning and traumatic experiences can cause us to not want to face ourselves about certain subjects. We may have been brain-washed by a religion and we just do not “go there.” These are inhibitions, that is, inhibitions halt your growth at the Point of Convergence. We were made to be Honest with our Self and to each other. Part of the Great Spirit is pure Honesty. The positive voice in our heads is our Great Spirit. We have to struggle to know when our Great Spirit is communicating to us through our thoughts and feelings. The Great Spirit is our True Self. It takes hard work, coupled with the virtue of courage, to face our Selves which makes the unconscious parts of our minds conscious. We surrender to our Great Spirit. With an ongoing constant surrender we get to the point where we recognize our Great Spirit’s guidance. The more that we wake up to our Great Spirit, the more we realize the multiple ways that our Great Spirit is communicating with us. Our Great Spirit broadcasts to us through all of nature. After we reach a high level of Self-Authenticity we reach a ground floor Union with our Great Spirit. After this ground floor Union with our Great Spirit has been reached, the Great Spirit continually prompts us on to be Love. Our Great Spirit, then, mainly runs our given personality.

You become aware of the Point of conscious and unconscious Convergence as you struggle to be mindful of your inner life. You develop a deep sense of interiority. You become aware of the Point of Convergence inside of you. Knowing the Point of convergence inside of you is great spiritual advancement. To heal your Self, you then face the inhibition, or block, that is at the Point of Convergence. You take it out of the unconscious and analyze it consciously. You deal with whatever you have been inhibiting. This is where our Great Spirit has led you. You now heal your Self by talking the inhibition over with our Great Spirit. This talk can be ongoing and take some time. This is part of the awakening process. This Point of Convergence process is the process of Purification. This process is meant to lead us into seeing and knowing that we all are part of our Great Spirit. This makes us sensitive to each other. We are not energetically separate from each other. We affect each other. The Great Spirit is in us all. We are just in different bodies but we are really ONE spiritual body.

Keep Good Company

My close soul mates and I truly love each other. We are so conscious of our Selves among each other that if we sense that we have said or done something wrong we will discuss the subject with one another. We admit when we have made a mistake. This is an ongoing confession to each other. We have an ongoing conversation for the good. This is True Self to True Self communication. This is the Great Spirit in us keeping loving balance between us. The Point of Convergence is always there no matter how advanced we become. When we, in truth, make the unconscious parts of our minds conscious we are creating Union inside of our Selves. We are truthful with our Self and others. We are disinhibiting ourselves. The Great Spirit, then, merges with our personalities and works through us.

In a flash she was transformed into knowing and seeing Universal Consciousness in everyone. This is the reality of the Universal Consciousness that we all share. It was as if someone had turned a ‘light switch’ from off to on in her. Before this happened it was as if she was asleep. Now she was awake. This was like ‘morning dawn’ for her. She was blossoming. She was astounded. She was thrilled. She had braved the ‘hero’s journey’ of knowing her Self. She had told herself the truth about herself. She was accepting herself. She had accepted her unique Self and body. She got rid of her unrealistic fantasies for the future. In this flash of permanent awareness she realized that she truly loved her Self. This Self-Realization experience of illumination made her realize that everyone was basically just like her inside. She discovered our ONENESS. No matter how others appeared to her, she realized that everyone else was struggling to understand humanity like she was. She realized that everyone else was suffering albeit at different levels. She realized that she was not separate from other people. She had a profound understanding that our thoughts, feelings and actions affect everyone. She realized how little time that she had left in her life. She realized that she would keep on improving herself for the rest of her life. But what led her to this Universal understanding about our human nature?

She Had Deeply Surrendered

In her alienation from others, that started long ago when she realized that she could lie, she realized that she could be dishonest. She thought that others could not prove the dishonesty and meanness coming from her because she strategically disguised it. What she did not realize was that other people could feel her dishonesty. Others felt the impure motives that stemmed from her alienated selfishness. Others felt the envy, jealousy, revenge, greed, competition, etc. Others felt her lack of awareness of them. It was her against the world. Because of the repetitive feedback from others telling her about negative aspects of her character, and the constant sorrow that it caused her, she began to tell herself the truth about herself. She hit bottom. Now she was on the road to balancing herself. She started to truthfully bring into her mind the repressed memories she had of others telling her that she had hurt their feelings. This truthful delving into her consciousness guided her into the Universal Realization that others had feelings and are not objects. She realized that we all have feelings whether we are in touch with them or not. She was becoming emotionally intelligent. She was now clearly getting in touch with her thoughts and feelings. Clearly, and truthfully, getting in touch with her thoughts and feelings caused her to be mindful of how she constructed language. She realized the true power that resides in the use of words. She realized that word-power needs to be strictly and purely championed for the good of everyone and everything. She was entering the reality of her Universal Connection with everyone and everything. This is Cosmic Consciousness. She realized that up until this point she could not help the bad things that she had done to others because she was not aware of our intimate connection. She was now truly becoming conscious of herself among others. This dawning of her Self-Honesty was the true beginning of her deep SURRENDER TO THE UNIVERSE, or to CREATION, GOD, etc. She realized that she needed to be non-attached to things. She realized that she needed to really “be in the world and not of the world.” She realized why saints and yogis retreat. She realized that true Self-Honesty leads us to true spiritual strength.

Now she realized what true character development was all about. It is about telling your Self, and others, the truth, as best as you can about everything that involves you/us. This is how we become balanced emotionally and physically. This is how others become attracted to us. This is where we become really confident. We become strong and face matters that seem hard for us. This is where we relax while realizing that we do not have to control everything. We become the Tao. In confident awareness we flow with nature with the good of all in mind.

Our Universal Consciousness/Mind/Spirit/Soul is not sexually orientated. Many call this God inside and outside us. I know and see this fact. I cannot deeply explain this fact. This fact is beyond the limited use of language. You can get to know and see this fact like I do. You have to feel/sense this fact from me and find our Universal Reality in your Self and then know and see it in other Selves. We then know and see that we are One.

We use the reasoning part of our mind to gain a strong entrance to, and for, believing our intuition. We us our whole brain. We combine our whole brain with our Universal Consciousness/Mind/Spirit/Soul. Our Universal/Mind/Spirit/Soul is sometimes called our Higher Mind and is connected to everything. Everything is energy.

Your sexual orientation has to do with the way that your particular biology has been formed and made. You may be experimenting with your sexuality. Whatever your present sexual orientation, it is leading you to understand about, and to clearly know and see, our Universal/Mind/Spirit/Soul that has no sexuality.

You have to realize that the best feelings that you have and the best voices in your head that instruct and prompt you are of our Holy Spirit. Our problem is that we always do not want to listen to our Holy Spirit because messages from it come to us not through our reasoning mind. Spirit’s messages are beyond the reasoning mind and/or logic. Spirit’s messages come as intuitions of the higher mind. The beginning of being “set free” is knowing this and being able to listen and follow our Spirit. Reaching the front door of heaven is when you know you are developing a sensitive connection to all beings and everything else. Here is where you seriously advocate causes. When you make this cosmic connection you become a “keeper of the cosmos.”

When we in truth fully surrender to our individual reality we are fully surrendering to the Universal and/or Holy Spirit that is in us and is us. If the Spirit emerges clearly into Awareness you will know it in your Self and in others simultaneously. You then know our Spirit. Our Spirit is the same as in the human Jesus. Jesus told us and showed us what to do as a model for us. You realize that we are all a part of the one soul – God. This is our main divine connection and it is individually right inside each of us. The Spirit of Jesus is the Spirit of US. Jesus shows Us that Jesus and US are of the same Spirit. We are ONE with Jesus. Jesus is our Spirit voice inside of us. If you do not like the word Jesus use the words Image and Likeness, or whatever your tradition may call the good voice inside of us. We love Jesus by doing what Jesus told us to do.

Deeply and truly knowing your Self individually is requisite for achieving certain higher illuminations. These are the higher illuminations that set us free and achieve us the state that is believed to be the front door of heaven. This is the resurrection of the Non-Dual Jesus/Christ/Holy/Universal/Spirit within us. When the Spirit strongly rises in you, it takes you up a few notches of knowing and seeing so to speak. You are renewed and you will stay renewed. You have developed your character in different ways and it has payed off. You have blossomed. When this happens you realize that you have achieved the state that all religions and traditions teach about reaching. You know that you have made your life. There is nothing more to do or prove. You are one with everyone and everything. Others are visible to you because you have become visible to your Self. You have returned to the Non-Dual state of perception that you had at your birth plus others are visible to you behind their purported illusions. You perceive clearly. You do not censor your thoughts and perceptions any more. Through this natural developmental process you have literally achieved the knowing of our ONENESS.

When the veils of illusion are removed you are given the spiritual sight of seeing how characteristics of other people’s egos block their clear awareness of our Universal Spirit. You gain the ability to help others truly realize their true nature. Others have to trust you in order for you to help free them. It is ego-fear that keeps others from trusting you. You help others become one inside of their Self and not divided. You are no longer divided between our Universal Spirit and your smaller culturally conditioned ego or small self. When this happens, our Universal Spirit becomes predominant within your ego and/or personality. Our Universal Spirit merges with your ego and/or personality. When this happens, you are also merging with everyone else because we are all the same inside of ourselves. Being brave enough to be truthful in every way gets you to knowing our oneness. Moreover, when you have merged into this Union inside of your Self you are then able to see the condition of others.

The cultural conditioning that you could not help going through since your birth divided you within your Self. The light of your Spirit became dimmed. The strength of the Spirit’s voice became weakened by conditioned illusions of the world that you thought were true. You were fully in touch with our Non-Dual Spirit at birth. When you were born, your perception was that you were connected to everything. The inside of you and the outside of you were one. You were not separate. You were not divided inside of your Self. You were everything before your ego made your inner world not connected to your outer world. You were one with the Cosmos. When you started to lie is when the division between our Spirit and your ego began within you.

Cosmic Consciousness is getting back to this oneness. Complete surrender to truth gets us back to our Universal Oneness. When we get back to realizing our Spirit, we become as “little children.” You have to back-track in your time-line to get back to realizing the unconditioned “little child” that you were in your beginning. This is the beginning state of higher love where I realize my well being. In realizing my well-being, I realize about your well-being and then transfer the realization to knowing all of humanity. I love humanity is the outcome. I love God and humanity simultaneously. God and humanity are inextricably ONE. The Golden Rule makes pure sense. I do not want to intentionally hurt others becomes a general issue. Here is where you become brave. You are becoming balanced and in touch with your reality. You have become truthful. You do not lie and try to trick others anymore. This refined natural state of truth gives you the ability to know when others are not being truthful. Here you become graced with the ability to know how others use language to deceive and you see through other illusions. As the saying goes “the truth will set you free.” You can achieve this ability of clear seeing. The ability lies in the farther reaches of our human nature. You gain the ability to pierce the veils of illusions and see into the heart of matters. Language is too limited for the full explanation of this ability. You have to trust, and be in the presence of a person who has this ability, in order for the possibility of the transmission of parts of the state or the ground floor of this state to occur.

God and the heavenly forces are opened to our knowing when we fully break into disinhibited free-flowing whole brain thinking. Here holographic awareness of one’s personal history formulates into what I have called “holographic knowing.” You know things without reasoning. Answers just come to you. Some may call holographic knowing psychic ability. Holographic knowing is your mind spitting out answers like a computer. In this condition you have a great memory and you remember your history.

If one pursues this route of open mindedness, where the Self truthfully faces the Self, and balances the Self through pondering and applying truths, it eventually leads to loving everyone and everything. “Actual Grace” is channeled to us via our Universal Spirit as enthusiasm to pursue our Spirit.

Cosmic Consciousness is realizing our Universal nature. God speaks through Nature. God speaks through our Human Nature, God speaks through the Nature of all beings and God speaks through everything else. When we realize this fact and are living it out we are close to the front door of heaven and all of the peace and beauty that goes along with heaven. The understanding of the spiritual/physical reality that we are all sensitively interconnected is a fundamental realization for you that pushes you to deeply love humankind. This realization tunes us into the realization of the love that is involved in our nurturing of each-other. This knowing about your sensitive connection to everyone, everything, and really to the whole Cosmos, is the perception of our Non-Dual Universal Holy Spirit of ONENESS taking us to heaven’s door. This is the beginning of the “range of higher consciousness” where we achieve greater and greater peace within our presence in physical life.
